Crime

Crime is one of the most mentionable problems in society. It exists in every society. Now we shall analyze it on the basis of the question.

Definition

According to Paul Tappan crime is “As an intentional act or a mission in violation of criminal law, committed without defense or excuse and penalized by the state as a felony”
According to Ember and Ember “in his book Ember and Ember” (page –574) “Crime is a social problem that pervades our society and it includes either respectable or non-respectable citizens”. 
J.M. Shepard said that “Crimes are acted that is in violation of the law”

Characteristics:

  1.  Punishment.
  2. Provided act.
  3. Guilty mind.

Types of crime

  • Professional Crime: the person who pursues crime as a day-to-day occupation.
  • Organized Crime: works of a group that regulates relations between various criminal enterprises involved in illegal activities.
  • White-collar Crime: illegal acts committed in the course of business activities often by affluent, respectable people.
  • Computer Crime: use of high technology to carry out illegal activity.
  • Corporate Crime: any act by cooperation that is punishable by the government.
