Agents of socialization are the people and groups which influence our emotions, attitudes and behavior etc. family, religion, school that are the agents of socialization that prepare us to take our place in society
  1. Family: The process of socialization beings for every one of us in the family. Here the parental and particular maternal influence on the child is very great. The parents are the first persons to introduce the child the culture of his group. The child receives additional communications from his order siblings, brother and sister who gone through the same process.
  2. Peer Group: The school and peer groups are the agents of socialization where a child meets with a large group of people of similar age. A part from education, the students are linked with each other for common interests. In this way of sharing ideas and common interests students finds peer groups for themselves and they start learning from those peer groups. Friends, clubs, gangs are the example of the peer groups.
  3. Teacher: The teachers also play their role in socialization when the child enters the school. It is in the school that the culture is formally transmitted and acquired. The science and art of one generation is passed on the next. The children in the earlier school may uncritically absorb the culture to which teacher give expression. They may in the high school respond with increasing expectation. But whenever they are and at whatever age, the communications they receive from their teacher help to socialize them and make them finally mature member in society.
  4. Literature: It is another source of socialization. This is of course found only in literate societies. The civilization that we share is, constructed of words, hurry at us in torrent and cascade. It motives our mentality and attitude and these two terms has a great impact in socialization.
  5. Mass Media: The media of mass communication give up their message. This message to contain in capture form to the premises of our culture and its attitude and ideologies. The words are written by writers, editors – join the teachers, the peers and the parents in the socialization process. The response can also differ some of us respect tradition. But all three modes of socialization thus contribute to transmission of culture by some and its acquisition by others.
  6. Religion: Religion is also an important agent of socialization where an individual learn about right and wrong. Religion provides basic ideas of mortality which become the part of our life in future. Religion teaches us about the way of dressing, speech and manners which for us in formal occasions and this term are related with the process of socialization.
  7. Child Care: Child care is another agent of socialization in which children are being socialized and benefited by others. It has been become a tradition in every society to hire a person for daily wages to take care of the children. Day care stimulates the intellectual personality of children.
  8. The Work Place: Work place is another agents of socialization in which an individual enter into a mature age. Work place is a place where an individual server as an employer and earns a few dollars. Beside this the employer has a lot of opportunities that co- worker always advises about future plans and life styles. It can be said that it is a sort of rehearsal for future activities and it is related with the process of socialization.
  9. Culture: Socialization mainly a matter of social learning or culture learning. Cultural learning is the process by which the individual learns the fundamental culture patterns of the society in which he will live. Through culturing one learns to walk, wear dress, get friends, get social obligation and develop the social attitude approved in society. Without their process the socialization of human being is not possible.
From the above discussion my point of view is that human don’t born in socialized. To socialize them their need some support. That is why these agents are very much important to be socialized.
